What is this?
unfinished thinking is a magazine of ideas that aren't ready yet. It's where ideas get worked out loud — speculative, exploratory, sometimes weird, sometimes wrong — in public, on purpose.
Most writing hides the thinking and shows you the conclusion. This does the opposite. A piece gets published the moment there's something worth arguing with, while it can still change. That's the lifecycle, and it's honest:
- U
- Unreviewed. Drafted half-formed; not yet read back and ratified as finished.
- N
- Not a position. Nothing here commits anyone to anything — least of all Clarion. It's a sketch, not a stance.
- F
- From a bouncing board. Human plus AI, thinking together, and saying so. The method is the message.
- I
- Invites the rebound. Published so you can push back. The point of thinking out loud is to be answered.
- N
- Not finished — yet. When a piece is reviewed and ratified, the marker changes. Until then it stays honest.
- I
- In the open. No paywall, no gate, no ads. A public flavor of a private notebook.
- S
- Speculative by design. The wild, half-formed, might-be-wrong ideas live here so they don't have to pretend to be settled.
- H
- Half-formed, and held lightly. Ideas in motion, offered to be argued with — not settled claims.
- E
- Evolving. Pieces can grow, correct themselves, or be withdrawn. Unfinished means alive.
- D
- Done is optional. Some thoughts never finish. That's fine. They were worth sharing anyway.
Every article carries an Unfinished marker until it's reviewed and ratified. It's a real editorial state, not a legal hedge. When you read something here, you're reading a draft that was worth putting in front of you now, before it was finished.
This site deliberately does not speak for Clarion or any company. What's said here is speculation. It could mean anything; it could change tomorrow.
Written with a clarion and a Claude as a socially augmented bouncing board — human and AI co-producing, and saying so. The site is proof-of-concept of its own thesis.
